Mariachi de Los Correcaminos performs in the King Center on the first day of the renowned celebration of Mexican music and entertainment.
Metropolitan State University of Denver’s student ensemble Mariachi de Los Correcaminos performed on stage during the Viva Southwest Mariachi Festival in the King Center on Friday, April 19. The Latino Cultural Arts Center and MSU Denver’s Department of Music partnered to bring this year’s sixth-annual festival — which included educator workshops, performances and headliners Mariachi Cobre — to the Auraria Campus. The event also included Festival Garibaldi, a free, community celebration of local mariachi and folkloric groups inspired by the famous plaza in Mexico City.
