PHOTOS: Excavation of the Ninth Street Historic Park reaches the halfway mark

Students continue their archeological dig to uncover the legacy of displaced Aurarians.

Throughout the fall semester, Anthropology students and professors from Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Colorado Denver and Community College of Denver are excavating a site on the Ninth Street Historic Park to learn more about the people who originally resided there. So far, they’ve found pieces of an old structure, as well as pottery remnants. They learned about the presence of these remains through ground-penetrating radar.
