Metropolitan State University of Denver opened its doors in 1965 with a bold mission: to provide accessible education and transformative opportunity. Now, the University is celebrating 60 years of excellence and remains true to that mission.

More than 112,000 graduates are innovating, impacting and influencing Colorado’s economy as changemakers in some of the state’s most in-demand industries, including health care, education, information technology, aerospace and more. The University is a major economic driver in Colorado, contributing nearly $1 billion annually to the state’s economy. Meanwhile, MSU Denver is  among the state’s most diverse institutions — more than half its students are people of color, nearly 60% are first-generation college students and 40% of undergraduates have transferred from other institutions.

As we look ahead to the next 60 years and beyond, we remain committed to removing barriers and expanding opportunity. In this milestone year, one thing is clear: Roadrunners rise.
