About
Nguyen-Siedem, Ph.D. is a professor in the School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her areas of expertise include physical education pedagogy, K–12 curriculum development and innovative approaches to physical activity and sport education.
Nguyen-Siedem developed a progressive secondary methods course that is now part of the required curriculum for the university’s K–12 physical education program. The course introduces future educators to nontraditional and emerging sports, including skateboarding, takraw, rugby, tchoukball and speedball, helping students expand opportunities for inclusive and engaging physical education.
In addition to teaching and advising students, Nguyen-Siedem is an avid outdoors enthusiast and active member of the volleyball community. She has coached USA junior national volleyball teams and continues to participate in the sport herself.
