President welcomes community questions in Town Hall event
Further articulating her vision for Roadrunner success, Davidson dished on mission and committed to a multicultural center.
Following an address to University community members outlining her vision, MSU Denver President Janine Davidson participated in a Town Hall meeting last Thursday evening in the Center for Advanced Visualization and Experiential Analysis.
Sponsored by the MSU Denver Champions advocacy group, the event was moderated by 2011 journalism alumnus Nicholas Garcia, affiliate faculty and deputy bureau chief for the online education news organization Chalkbeat Colorado.
Davidson fielded questions from Garcia about her military background, commitment to an access-driven mission and support for those affected by recent changes to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Attendees then had the opportunity to ask questions in-person, via telephone conference call and on social media. Subjects included University infrastructure, support for veteran students and inclusivity for students of color. Davidson committed that the University would devote physical space to this last point.
“I know there was a proposal for a multicultural center and we are going to do it,” she said.
Full video of the event is available on the Town Hall webpage.
President Davidson will address queued questions in future features such as her weekly video series, “The Rundown.”
