About
Terry Bower, MSW, is the Academic Affairs Chief Strategy Officer at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Bower has led the Innovative and Lifelong Learning department for nearly a decade. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, communication and educational program development and evaluation.
At MSU Denver, Bower leads the development and execution of a cohesive academic strategy that advances student success, workforce alignment and institutional impact. In this role, she partners closely with deans, department chairs, faculty, and cross-functional teams to shape integrated, future-ready academic portfolios across Academic Affairs.
Prior to joining MSU Denver, she gained more than 20 years of experience serving as Vice President of Business Development and Market Research for two global communication firms. After those positions, Bower was the Communication Director for the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, where she played a key role in the launch of the new center. In 2011, Bower served as Director of Mayor Michael Hancock’s Education Compact initiative, where she assisted in strengthening partnerships between the city, K-12 schools and higher education institutions to expand educational opportunity and student success.
Bower earned her Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University and Bachelor’s in English from Emory University.
