About
Robert Persichitte, MPAcc, is an affiliate professor in the Department of Accounting at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He has worked in the professional accounting field for over six years and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. At MSU Denver, he teaches Managerial Accounting for HOSP and oversees the Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) course, designed to teach students real world accounting skills while proving a free tax-preparation service to the community.
Persichitte previously worked for the City and County of Denver in the Auditor’s Office as a lead data analytics auditor where he assisted with building and maintaining the continuous audit program’s infrastructure, developed scripts in Arbutus and Python to identify key risk indicators, automated audit testing and collaborated with audit teams to find efficient ways to use data. He has also presented on various data related topics such as continuous auditing, the types of analysis and audit criteria.
Persichitte received his master’s certificate in data science from Harvard University in 2019, his master’s degree in financial forensics and fraud investigation from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2013 and his bachelor’s in economics and accounting from Regis University in 2009.
