Lina Martin-Corredor

Lina Martin-Corredor, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her expertise includes literacy education, immigration and education, Hispanic-serving institutions, teacher preparation, cultural and linguistic diversity in K-12 and higher education settings. 

She serves as a Faculty Research Affiliate for the Literacy Research Center and Clinic at MSU Denver, where she studies translanguaging practices and explores interdisciplinary issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in education. Her work examines how educators can create more inclusive learning environments and better support multilingual students and families. 

Prior to joining MSU Denver, she taught both Spanish and English as a language instructor, bringing classroom experience to her scholarship and teacher-development work. 

She earned her doctor of philosophy in Culture, Literacy and Language from the University of Texas at San Antonio, her master’s degree in Education from Carthage College and her bachelor’s in Spanish and English Teaching from the National Pedagogical University in Colombia.
