About

Karen Jaramillo, Ed. D., is a lecturer in the Department of Chicana/o Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her expertise is in cultural studies, with an emphasis on Indigenous methodologies and philosophy. 

As an educator, Jaramillo grounds her teaching from the perspective of Indigenous worldview, a holistic approach that meets each student where they are academically and personally to create a whole-person learning experience. 

She earned her Ph.D., in education from the University of Colorado Denver, a master’s in curriculum design from Colorado Christian University and her bachelor’s in chicana/o studies from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
