Illana Oliff, M.A., serves as the director of clinical education at the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her areas of expertise include gender-affirming voice care, aphasia, cognitive-communication changes resulting from injury or aging, late language emergence (late talkers), speech and language therapy , spanning age groups, from pediatric to geriatric. Oliff holds a license in Speech Language Pathology, in addition to certifications in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, CPR, and AED. She also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association., 

In addition to her teaching, Oliff contributes to the American Speech Language Hearing Association as a continuing education materials developer. She developed the Augmentative and Alternative Communication Practice Portal on the ASLHA’s webpage. She also submitted a publication titled, “Using Principles of Motor Learning to Treat Apraxia of Speech after Traumatic Brain Injury” in the Journal of Medical Speech-Language Pathology.

Before joining MSU Denver, Oliff served as a bilingual speech-language pathologist at Speech and Health LLC.

Oliff earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from the American University.
