About
Vaughn N. Toland, M.A., is the executive director of admissions and outreach at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His expertise includes strategic enrollment management, transfer student recruitment and services, partnership development with K–12 and community colleges, and the implementation of innovative admissions technologies and processes.
In addition to his leadership in the Office of Admissions, Toland has served as interim associate vice president for enrollment management, overseeing student services such as financial aid, registration, orientation and TRIO programs. He has developed and executed strategic recruitment plans, coordinated graduate admissions processes and led diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, including the Anti-Racism Action Plan and ICARE Committee.
Toland brings more than 27 years of higher education experience, with 25 years in supervisory and leadership roles and more than a decade in direct student recruitment. His career has been defined by building collaborative relationships across academic, athletic and administrative departments, as well as with statewide educational partners.
Before joining MSU Denver, Toland worked extensively in admissions and transfer services, where he developed innovative programs such as transfer course equivalency systems, auto-admit partnerships and application marketing campaigns.
Toland earned a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Colorado Denver. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
