About
Rachel Ego, MBA, is an affiliate professor in the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her areas of expertise include human resources and people operations, HR for hospitality and start-ups, and payroll.
Ego brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in private clubs across California, Colorado, Massachusetts and Wyoming. She is also the owner and human resources director of Big Time HR, an outsourced HR and people operations service that supports companies with growth, culture building, compliance, project management and risk reduction.
She holds certifications from the Club Management Association of America, the Court of Master Sommeliers, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Before joining MSU Denver, Ego worked at Paychex as a senior payroll specialist and later as a human resources generalist, using her leadership background to help local and multi-state clients navigate HR challenges, compliance issues and strategic planning.
She earned her Master of Business Administration from Johnson & Wales University and a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
