Cristina Miguez Cruz

Cristina Miguez Cruz, Ph.D., is a professor of Spanish in the Department of World Languages at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her areas of expertise encompass Spanish language, Latin American culture and cinema.  

Miguez Cruz has been teaching at MSU Denver since 2010. With over a decade of experience, her teaching focus is centered around the study of cultures, film and literature. Her published works include “The vulnerability of male bodies in Uruguayan cinema,” and “Consumption and Education in Recent Uruguayan Cinema: Between Sobriety, Joy, and Excess.” 

Miguez Cruz received her Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literature in Spanish from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, an M.A. in Literary Studies from the Central University of Venezuela and her B.A. in Letters from the University of the Republic in Montevideo, Uruguay.
