About
Michael Botyarov, Ph.D., serves as an assistant professor at the Aviation and Aerospace Science Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His areas of expertise encompass aerospace operations, systems engineering, project management and artificial intelligence. His focus is centered around human factors in systems engineering, especially as they relate to generative design technologies in aerospace applications.
In addition to teaching, Botyarov serves as a Program Manager at Sierra Nevada Corporation, an aerospace, defense, electronics, engineering, and manufacturing company. He also brings industry experience in production and sustainment programs, having worked as a systems engineer at United Launch Alliance and Maxar Technologies.
Notably, Botyarov has authored “Generative Design Solution Space Parsing: An Evaluation of User Experience, Workload, and Performance” featured in the Springer Nature Journal. Additionally, his contributions extend to publications such “Evaluating Usability of Generative Design Process for Human-Centered Design” published in the International Journal of Development Research. Currently, Botyarov is actively researching how to use Mathematica to model different families of differential equations to better understand systems and their real-world applications.
Prior to joining MSU Denver, Botyarov served as a System Engineer at the United Launch Alliance, supporting launch services for both government and commercial clients.
Botyarov earned his Doctorate in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University. He holds a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Colorado Denver. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical/Space Engineering, as well as a degree in Applied Mathematics from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
