About
Megan Scherzberg, Ph.D., is the Interim Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her expertise includes student enrollment, transfer student pathways, orientation and transition programs, and re-engagement strategies for students with some college but no degree.
With extensive experience in higher education leadership, Scherzberg plays a central role in advancing initiatives that support student persistence, access, and degree completion. She has led projects related to transfer student success, first-year retention and is a key voice in the implementation of Colorado’s Finish What You Started grant, which helps re-admit and support adult learners returning to college to complete their degrees.
Scherzberg is a strong advocate for inclusive enrollment strategies and has spoken publicly about policies and practices that help institutions better serve returning students and adult learners. She brings a strategic and student-centered lens to her work in policy development and institutional transformation.
Before joining MSU Denver, she worked at Des Moines Area Community College, first as an Orientation Coordinator and then as an Assistant Director of Student Development.
She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a community college focus from Iowa State University, her master’s in Higher Education Administration at the University of Kansas and her bachelor’s in Child, Adult, and Family Services with a public policy emphasis.
