About

Magens Orman is an affiliate professor in the Department of Aviation and Aerospace Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver.  She is also an operations engineer at Loft Federal, where she coordinates daily operations for building and managing a small fleet of commercial satellites, playing a hands-on role in manufacturing and preparing them for production. 

Her expertise includes hardware-focused engineering that supports the development, production and testing of components, subsystems and full system hardware across multiple aerospace disciplines. 

In 2020, Orman was a manufacturing engineer for Sierra Nevada Corporation. She supervised the building of commercial space components such as solar arrays, hinges and release mechanisms. There, she served as a manufacturing expert, providing input on how components should be built and validated. 

Orman received her bachelor’s degree in aerospace system design from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
