About
Jazmin Chavez, J.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Chicana/o Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her areas of expertise include the history of Latinos in the United States, race and the law, philanthropy, digital media, crisis communication, Latino leadership, organizing strategies, cultural strategy, storytelling, and issues affecting Black, Indigenous, and people of color professionals, as well as the undocumented experience.
Chavez has more than 25 years of experience in digital strategy, fundraising, communications, and innovation for nonprofit organizations, philanthropic institutions, government agencies, advocacy campaigns, and strategic outreach in underrepresented communities.
An entrepreneur, angel investor, and International Coaching Federation-certified executive coach, Chavez has led integrated digital marketing strategies and advised clients, including Fortune 100 companies, on executive positioning and communication. Her ventures include Divina Latina, a clothing line; Tonalli, a socially conscious Latine boutique; Rapport Studios, a creative firm she co-founded; and Alma Mia, her healing-centered coaching practice.
Before joining MSU Denver, she served as Vice President of Movement Building and Infrastructure at Hispanics in Philanthropy, leading multi-million dollar fundraising and programmatic strategies to support the power of Latinx organizations in the US and Latin America.
Chavez earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in ethnic studies, history, and leadership studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.
