About

Graham Stefan Ignizio, Ph.D., is a professor in the Modern Languages Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He also serves as the 2023 Presidential Faculty Fellow and the deputy chief of staff in the Office of the President at MSU Denver. His areas of expertise include Spanish and Hispanic studies, 20th- and early 21st-century Cuban-American literature, as well as experiential learning, service learning, Caribbean literature, women’s studies, border studies, film and post-Franco peninsular women writers.

Before arriving at MSU Denver in 2012, Ignizio was a visiting assistant professor of Hispanic Studies at Union College in New York for three years.

He received his doctorate in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his master’s from Middlebury College and his bachelor’s from North Carolina State University.
