About
Ethan Waples, Ph.D., serves as the Associate Dean and Director of the Master of Business Administration program in the College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His areas of expertise encompass leadership, leadership style, the importance of culture, and employee recruitment and selection. His scholarly focus is centered on ethics and ethical decision-making from behavioral/social cognitive perspectives.
In addition to teaching, Waples is currently an Associate Editor for the Organization Management Journal. He also provides consulting services to both for-profit and government organizations, advising on areas such as job analysis, compensation structures, performance management, and strategic planning. He has co-authored the paper “Leveraging Mega-Events to Reduce Prejudice: A Model for Multi-Level Changes,” which was featured in the Management Decision Journal. Additionally, Waples has presented at several national conferences, including the 2024 Annual Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference and the 2023 Southwest Academy of Management Conference in Houston, TX.
Prior to joining MSU Denver, he served as management department chair at the University of Houston-Downtown, and director of the MBA and chair of the management department at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Waples earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and his Master of Science in Psychology, both from the University of Oklahoma and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baker University
