Chandler Reilly

Chandler Reilly, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His areas of expertise include economics of defense contracting, defense research and development policy, military base redevelopment and public choice economics. His primary focus is on applied microeconomics and political economy. 

In addition to teaching, Reilly has collaborated on numerous articles focusing on the economics of bureaucracy. Notably, he co-authored “University Affiliated Research Centers: Evasive Entrepreneurship within the Department of Defense,” featured in the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Public Policy. Additionally, his contributions extend to publications such as “Bureaucratic Rent Creation: The Case of Price Discrimination in the Market for Postsecondary Education,” which appeared in Constitutional Political Economy. Currently, Reilly is actively researching the impact of informal institutions on colonial relations in Maine. 

Before joining MSU Denver, Reilly served as graduate lecturer of Economics at George Mason University.  

Reilly earned his Ph.D. and Master of Arts in Economics from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside.
