About
Lesley Edwards-Gaither, Ph. D. is an assistant professor at the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her expertise includes linguistic diversity, communication, and technology, telehealth, access to care, professional licensure compacts and related legislation, cultural responsiveness, and Parkinson’s disease.
Dr. Edwards-Gaither has been teaching at MSU Denver for 3 years. She has about 23 years of experience in the speech, language and hearing sciences, as well as the communications and technology industry.
Lesley has served as the Co-Chair and Chair of the Telepractice & Technology Topic Committee for the ASHA Convention (2018, 2019) and serves as a reviewer for several professional publications. She also co-authored Telepractice: A Clinical Guide for Speech-Language Pathologists (Plural Publishing 2022). She is an advocate and supporter of the Aud-SLP Interstate Compact and has testified as such to state and federal legislative committees.
Prior to working at MSU Denver, she taught part-time at George Washington University and developed online training programs for university communication clinical programs as an independent consultant.
Lesley got her Ph. D. in Philosophy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology at Howard University, her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at Miami University, and her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Howard University.
