About

Paul Camp, Ph.D., is the chair of the Finance Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He also teaches financial planning classes that focus on estate planning and personal financial planning.

Camp worked as director of research for Virginia Tech’s National Institute on Personal Finance Employee Education after completing his doctorate. He then worked as a fee-only financial planner, developing financial plans and managing client portfolios before joining MSU Denver.

His research explores the link between causal attributions to events and the willingness to engage in financial planning behavior.

Camp received his doctorate in financial planning and counseling from Purdue University in 1998, a master’s in consumer economics from University of Missouri, Columbia in 1992 and a bachelor’s in business administration and finance from Truman State University in 1985. He is a certified financial planner.
